Ah, San Diego Comic Con, you never fail to disappoint when it comes to film news and release information. We got some quality film trailers, some savory tidbits of information on upcoming projects and, to boot, there was quite a buzz over DC Comics’ Media Presence. So I thought it’d be helpful to post the trailers released into one, handy article you can all share and distribute to build excitement amongst your friends, lovers and pets!
So Let’s start with DC Comics! It’s exciting to see DC’s Cinematic Universe finally coming together and especially fresh to see a film NOT involving Batman and Superman!
WONDER WOMAN looks insanely good! Of comic book films coming out, this is easily my most anticipated of the lot. I also don’t mind the shift from World War II to World War I, but I’m sort of curious as to why, not that it impedes Diana’s story in any way…
Next up, we get a look at Zack Snyder’s JUSTICE LEAGUE! Glad to see the humor shining through especially in Flash’s case. Jason Momoa’s Aquaman looks every bit as rugged as a King of the Seven Seas should. And I still like Ben Affleck as Batman / Bruce Wayne. I think he balances both extremely well and he’s easily the best since Keaton. And Cyborg? Verbatim from the comics. Very excited!
SUICIDE SQUAD is right around the corner opening in less than two weeks! DC released the last trailer for it. For those who aren’t in the know, Suicide Squad is a group of villains gathered from around the DC Universe and incarcerated at the Belle Reve prison facility. The idea is simple, they get assigned extremely dangerous missions for the government and in return, if they survive, they get time shaved off their sentences. Obviously a shared DCCU film, we get some glimpses of Affleck’s Batman & Batmobile as well as what appears to be a Gotham City setting, which makes sense as Joker, Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Killer Croc are all Batman villains…
Marvel offered up a second trailer for DOCTOR STRANGE. I quite like that rather than sticking with a straight Summer tentpole strategy, Marvel is releasing films in the Winter Holidays area as well. We get to see some new footage and get some ideas of the villain. I quite like Baron Mordo’s portrayal here along with WiFi joke at the end.
Following up to the small screen, we get a look at GHOST RIDER making his way to AGENTS OF SHIELD:
And we get an extended look at LEGION which is debuting on Fox. No word if it’s Xavier’s son, but the term “mutant” is tossed about, lending to the idea that this might be tied in with the Fox X-Men films.
NON-COMIC BOOK films…
LEGENDARY PICTURES are getting serious with their Kaiju properties! KONG: SKULL ISLAND gives an intriguing look at what to expect. Nice to see John Goodman! Also, they’ve made Kong a tad bigger, which is to be expected since he’s going up against GODZILLA in 2019/2020 in the planned GODZILLA vs. KING KONG film…
Guy Ritchie, who gave us the crime capers SNATCH and LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS along with the wildly entertaining SHERLOCK HOLMES and SHERLOCK HOLMES: GAME OF SHADOWS, give us a revisionist take on King Arthur with KING ARTHUR – LEGEND OF THE SWORD…
The fantasy continues with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter follow-up FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM…
Has it been 18 years since the original Blair Witch? Yikes! And, whatever, here’s the BLAIR WITCH trailer…
I apologize for my lack of enthusiasm for the last two as I’m not a big Harry Potter nor was I of the Blair Witch Project, but I certainly understand they both have their fandoms.
Which ones are you excited for the most?!

I suppose you have a better thought on the subject?
